The Jambu Fruit Dove is native to rainforests and secondary forest of southern Thailand, the Malay
Peninsula, Brunei and part of Indonesia. Like other fruit doves, it is an important disperser of fruit seeds.
The male, shown above, has a pink blush mark on his white chest and a pinky-red head. The female
is mainly green with a pale belly. Both have a chestnut vent. Populations are near threatened by extensive deforestation.
