The Spotted Dove, also called the Spotted Turtle Dove and the Lace-necked Dove, is native to the Indian sub-continent
and Southeast Asia and introduced to Australia (where photos were taken). It is not closely related to the Turtle Dove
nor to the Collared Dove, but is closely related to the Palm/Laughing/Senegal Dove.
The juvenile Spotted Dove has the black eyeline and flecked back/wings but doesn't have the black and white spotted collar.
