The Spotted Dove, also called the Spotted Turtle Dove and the Lace-necked Dove, is native to the Indian sub-continent
and Southeast Asia. It is not closely related to the Turtle Dove nor to the Collared Dove, but is closely related to the Palm/Laughing/Senegal Dove.
It has also been introduced to Australia (where the photos in the row immediately above were taken; all other photos
on the page were in Singapore).
The juvenile Spotted Dove (above right) has the black eyeline and flecked back/wings but doesn't have the black and white spotted collar.
