The Guira Cuckoo is native to central South America.

Although most birds have no sense of smell (exceptions including the Turkey Vulture and Kiwi), the Guira Cuckoo gives off a strong smell.

Although in the cuckoo family, its makes its own nest or, being gregarious, uses a communal nest.
