The Tenerife subspecies of the Great Spotted Woodpecker, endemic to the pine forests of Tenerife (but not to the other Canary Islands),
has a pinkish-coloured front.
The male with a red patch on the back of his head (above).
The female (above) doesn't have the red patch on her head.
Love at first sight (with the woodpecker-shaped tap, not the blue chaffinch in the
background).
She did find some drops of water from the spout.
