The Isabelline Wheatear breeds in southern Russia and Central Asia and winters in India and Africa.
Unusually for wheatears, male and female have similar plumage - both also similar to a large version of the female Northern Wheatear.
It is called "isabelline" because of its light brown colouring. It is called "wheatear" as a euphemism of "white arse" - visible in flight above.
