The Olive-backed Sunbird is native to southern and south-eastern Asia and Australasia.
The male has an iridescent blue throat and upper chest patch in breeding plumage (those
shown above have moulted much of it out). The female (not shown) looks like several other female sunbirds with a pale
yellow front and olive-brown back.
There are many subspecies over its large range, some of which may be elevated to related full
species with further research. (Singapore subspecies shown.)
