Splendid Sunbird Aethopyga siparaja

The Crimson Sunbird is native to tropical Asia (the one shown on the heliconian flower in the rain was in Singapore where it is the "national bird").

A tiny bird (distance photo above also well-cropped), despite the bright crimson even the male is well-camouflaged in its natural habitat. The female is olive-brown.

Like other sunbirds, it has a specially-shaped bill and a brush-tipped tongue to drink nectar from flowers.
