Daurian Starling Sturnus sturninus

The Daurian Starling, also called the Purple-backed Starling in view of its brownish-purple (purplish-brown?) back, is native mainly to Mongolia, Indochina and China. The male has more purple in the brown of his back. The female has slightly lighter-coloured plumage.
