The Pale Sand Martin, sometimes called just the Pale Martin, is very similar to the Sand Martin but has paler brown plumage, especially a paler bib.
It is sometimes recognised as a full species and sometimes as a subspecies of the Sand Martin.
The Pale Sand Martin is native to Central Asia, the northern part of the Indian sub-continent and western China; it winters in southern India.
Like the Sand Martins, they nest communally in holes in sandy bank and cliff edges.
Male and female have similar plumage and both feed the young in the nest.
