The Sumatran Laughingthrush, also called the Black and White laughingthrush, is native to evergreen montane forests of
Sumatra, Indonesia. It is dark brown and white rather than black and white.
A noisy, flocking species, group members cooperate in feeding and raising each other's young.
It is vulnerable to habitat loss and capture for the cage bird trade and is largely confined to an area of national park.
