The Spotted Laughing Thrush (also spelled Laughingthrush) is native to Bhutan, Nepal, northern India, Myanmar and China.
There are over 50 species of Laughing Thrush (Laughingthrush), noisy, inquisitive birds with the common name coming from their "laugh-like" call.
The Spotted is one of the largest species and has been put in a separate genus by some.
Its main habitat is mountain forest, particularly bamboo woodland. It likes to sunbathe.
