The White-throated Kingfisher, also/previously called the White-breasted Kingfisher, is native over a large range from Asia Minor
through to Southern Asia and Southeast Asia.

There are several subspecies over its range, one of which has white only on its throat.
Like many kingfishers, its diet is not entirely aquatic and it can be found well away from water.
