Collared Kingfisher Todiramphus chloris (Halcyon chloris)

The Collared Kingfisher, also called the White-collared Kingfisher, inhabits a vast but patchy range from the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula through the Indian sub-continent, Southeast Asia and northern Australasia. It occurs particularly in coastal habitats and islands, including a large number of Pacific islands.

His plumage is a little brighter and more blue, her plumage is a little darker and greener.

There are some 50 subspecies across its range with considerable variation in plumage, especially around the eye and nape; some also are greener or more blue and some have buff fronts or flanks, but all have a white collar.
