The Helmeted Friarbird is one of several Friarbirds, members of the Honeyeater (nectar and fruit eating) family.
It is native to forests of northern Australia and Indonesia. It looks similar to the Silver-crowned Friarbird (which has a square
face line rather than rounded and a paler front) and the Noisy Friarbird (which has a totally bald head). The bald
faces of the friarbirds keep them clean while eating.
