Scaly-breasted Munia Lonchura punctulata

The Scaly-breasted Munia, also called the Spice Finch in captivity, is native to South and Southeast Asia. These lovely photos above (only) were taken by Dr Harsha Vardhan Reddy.

A sociable bird, it is also called the Nutmeg Mannikin. Male and female have similar plumage but males often have darker markings.
