Purple-throated Fruitcrow
Fruitcrows are not crows at all but cotingas. While cotingas are a most diverse group in terms of size, colour and behaviour, there are several fruitcrows, all from a different genus. The Purple-throated Fruitcrow, whose throat is more rose-pink than purple, comes from the northern part of South America. The female looks like the male without the "purple" throat. Unusually for cotingas/fruitcrows, the Purple-throated live in groups containing both male and females and the females help to feed/raise each others' chicks.
