Catbirds are so-named because their sound resembles a cat miaowing (not because the cat got their tail as seems on this one).
Ailuroedus species are native to Australia. Seeing that there is one called the Green Catbird and another called the Spotted Catbird,
one wonders why this one is called the White-eared Catbird - not its dominant feature.
Catbirds are related to Bowerbirds, the males of which decorate their nest area with flowers/objects.
Unlike other Bowerbirds, Catbirds are monogamous and males help raise chicks.
