Vermilion Cardinal Cardinalis phoeniceus

The Vermilion Cardinal is native to arid scrubland in two separate areas of northern Venezuela, one of which also spreads into northeastern Colombia. The adult male, shown, is bright red and the female, like that of the Red Cardinal, is mainly brown with a little red on the crest.
