Rock Bunting Emberiza cia

The Rock Bunting is native to mountain slopes of southern Europe/North Africa through to the Himalayas/Central Asia.

The breeding male (shown) has stronger markings than the plainer female. These photos were taken by Alexandra Makhnina in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Its habitat, as its name indicates, is rocky mountainous terrain.
