Wrynecks, called Eurasian Wryneck outside northern Europe, are a type of small woodpecker, so-named because they twist their necks at almost 180 degrees. They are native to much of Europe and Asia from the Iberian Peninsula to the Far East. They migrate south to Africa/India/SE Asia in winter.
