The Blue Tit is a pretty yellow, blue and green/grey bird with an attractive blue cap; it has a white face with a black eye line
and black chin. Male and female have similar plumage. It is a common bird in gardens and countryside, resident throughout the year;
gregarious with its own kind and other birds and amusingly acrobatic as it seeks out insects.

There are several subspecies. The UK resident Blue Tit, shown on this page, is C. c. obscurus.
