A winter visitor to UK from Scandinavia/northeast Europe/northern Asia,
the Redwing is a little smaller than a Song Thrush and has a rust-coloured patch just under its wings giving its name.
The red wing patch gives good camouflage in autumn/winter leaves.
It also has a prominent white/pale "eyebrow" and "chinstrap".
Flocks of Redwing often eat with the other winter visiting thrush, the Fieldfare, and/or with Waxwings.
