The Siskin, also called the Eurasian Siskin or Common Siskin.

The Eurasian Siskin is native to much of western Eurasia and also to eastern Asia, but absent in central areas.
Many of the northern populations migrate south in winter.
The male, above (in UK), has a black cap which darkens in the breeding season and he becomes less streaky (above right).
The female, above, has more streaked plumage. Both have yellow feathers in the forked tail.
Preferring tree seeds, they are rare visitors to garden feeders in late winter.
