Ring-necked Parakeets are bred in several different colours in aviculture - yellow and blue being the most popular.
The natural colour in the wild is green with black and pink ring.
The male neck ring is usually white with pink on the yellow bird instead of black with pink,
and there is a whitish rather than bluish wash above the collar.
The female has no neck ring, or may have a paler yellow shadow ring.
Other colours include all white and even beige. It seems such a shame to tamper with such vibrant natural beauty to obtain such plainness.
