Ring-necked Parakeets are gregarious, active and noisy birds.
The new, allegedly "squirrel-proof" feeder (a success in deterring feral pigeons since the feeder already
has a squirrel baffle tray) was fortunately no obstacle to the parakeets.
They are clever enough to work out how to use feeders intended for small birds and blocking large or heavy birds.
Beaky enjoys break-dancing.
They are acrobatic and destructive little beasts.
Blossom enjoys her flowers.
She stripped several from the tree.
She and her gang do the same with fruit.
They can be aggressive even to their own flock/partners. Polly sticks her tongue out at birds she doesn't like . . .
and "pins" the pupils in her eyes - parrots can minimise the dark pupil in a light iris to show emotion.
Usually intelligent, this one can't work out how to get at the seeds.
More arguments and "pinning" of pupils in the eyes.
Mother Hubbard finds the feeder empty again.
Cinderella's sister finds that the nestbox doesn't fit.
Always inquisitive and keen to investigate potential nesting holes.
Parakeet over Californian Lilac.
Polly loves peanuts.
The Robin landed on the branch (his usual perch) just beside the Parakeet. Perhaps he really didn't see the camouflaged
bird. I wasn't quick enough to get the photo before he made a hasty retreat.
Boys will be boys.
